We are HCT (House Cleaning Technician) Certified
Leslie’s Cleaning Services earned HCT Certification in 2012.
We are one of a few select companies in the world to have earned this certification.
The vast majority of residential cleaning technicians aren’t aware of the scientific advances in the areas of microbiology, chemistry and cleaning technology that improve our health and well-being. HCT Certified Techs who successfully complete this extensive course are well versed in these topics as well as other important topics which include safety, methods and productivity. In the HCT course, cleaning technicians are taught the value and criteria for developing a proper cleaning methodology, including the microbiology and chemistry behind soil, as well as how to identify and care for many of the materials and surfaces commonly found in homes today. In addition to caring for the home and its contents, a professional house cleaning technician helps care for a client’s health; this includes hygienic cleaning, effective sanitizing of surfaces, use of appropriate cleaning agents, and procedures to prevent cross contamination.
The Science of Cleaning
When understood at its most fundamental level, cleaning (and sanitizing and disinfecting) are processes based in science. The course includes a significant science lesson relevant to cleaning products and processes, including:
- Cleaning chemistry
- pH Scale
- Types of cleaners and bleaches
- Wet and dry solvents
- Sanitizers and disinfectants
